Well, its pretty cold today. and by pretty cold i mean a wind chill of -15 degrees. YIKES.

these shoes are just a sampling. i dont like the kind where the strap goes around your ankle in the front. i do like the shoes the model has on, though.

so i figured id document my 2006 holiday goings-on...

dec.23. our aunts infamous annual christmas eve party was held on december 23rd. fun. not as hot in her house as usual. me glen ellen & john all hung out. watched the tv, etc. ate some good snacky food.
dec.24. the majority of glens family and my mom & dad came around 4 for dinner, and some little presents. my dad & i went to ho kong to pick up the chinese food and when we got back the 10 of us had a feast. it was nice to sit around the dinner table, relaxing and talking. after we ate, we all sat around the tree, chatting and watching ella open some of her gifts.
our house feels so cozy all decorated for christmas, with our tree and transib orch. playing! :-)
after everyone left glen & i got to task on opening up our christmas presents to eachother. got lots of awesome things! my favorite is my new vera bradley purse, and matchy wallet. i think glens favorite is his new office chair, or his rachael ray fry pan.
dec.25. christmas day. we woke up early and headed over to my parents house. had to be there while the monkey bread was still warm! we got over there and settled around the tree for present time. lots of good gifts there, and everyone seemed to like what i got them (i hope!) sooo after we all opened gifts, john & glen went outside to toss around the old pigskin (yes on xmas day- it was like 50degrees) and ellen and i went to get some coffee. glen and i headed back home to change, etc before going over to aunt nancys for dinner. (dont tell anyone i fell asleep upstairs while i was 'getting ready'). around 3 we got over to aunt nancy & uncle stevens and we had just missed some excitement! there had been firetrucks and police there minutes before us... some grease had splattered in the oven and caused a mini-fire! the turkey was okay though... and very yummy :-)
blah blah blah the weekdays after christmas sucked... had to work :(
dec.30. time to celebrate christmas with the boys family! woke up bright & early and headed to stow. once we got up there, we played with the babies for a while until breakfast was ready... YUMMY egg bake/omelette thing stacey made with peppers & onions, cheese, etc. and cranberry pomegranate juice... it was by far the best breakfast i've had in a loong time. then it was presents, watching the girls, watching tv, talking etc. we left to go home and pack for NH and head to kevin & lizs in charlestown. when we got there at 9ish we watched tv and looked at all thier gifts. went to bed to rest up for snowboarding the next day
dec.31. woke up at the asscrack. drove up to waterville valley and immediately got to the rentals place to get our gear. got all suited up and to our lesson by 10am. took our 2 hour snowboarding lesson. the teacher guy was so nice and we all learned alot. kevin and amanda really got the hang of it quick. glen, liz and i were slow to get started but once we did we moved over to the chair lift slope and started going downthe bigger hill. alot of falling, laughing and fun took place. man what a workout! after alot of snowboarding we went to grab a snack at the sports bar in the town square and watch the end of the pats game. we checked into the hotel and the 4 of us immediately took a nap. i woke up and headed back to the square to grab some sodas and water (i was beyond thirsty!!!!) for us all. when i got back everyone was awake so we called and made our dinner reservations for 9. glen & i went to watch the NYE fireworks and the were awesome! headed back to the room to get showered and changed for dinner. dinner was awesome, i had chicken with a mushroom type thing stuffed with herbs. cinnamon apple sauce squash (yes i said cinnamon apple) horseradish mashed potatoes, and green beans. we all splurged and got desserts, which came with a sparkler blazing on top! exciting! we drank 'kevins favorite' wine, beers, bacardi, etc. after that we all went to the room to catch the ball dropping and have one more glass of champagne before passing out so hard. we were all so exhausted! :-)
jan.1. happy 2007! drove home. ice storm. three hours. relaxed. glen got sick. back to work.
my sister gets married this year. <3

p.s. my cat grew up. she wears sweaters now. yes, i know thats nerdy

so this is my bridesmaids dress, but in green. love it!!
thanksgiving is a week and a half away. my mom is having a ton of people over this year. i love thanksgiving. ELLEN do you still read this? if so we can help momma with turkey dinner and spend the morning together like we did last year :-)
last night we played scrabble for a while. we werent very creative with our words. they were small ones like "bit" and medium ones like "hair". DUMB
ELLEN Are you coming over Wednesday for Tuesday?

well the good news is its fall. i love it, esp because you can wear sweaters, jeans, hoodies, etc. and not have to bundle way up into a huge winter jacket.  also b/c of the leaves changing. and you get to think of how close thanksgiivng and christmas are.
saturday is a halloween party, im going as a black cat. my sisters going as a cowgirl and john is going as a patriots player.
lily got fixed yesterday- she was so tired last night it was ridiculous.
